RUSA Book and Media Awards Ceremony and Reception, ft. Andrew Carnegie Medals Announcements


The Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction will be announced during the Midwinter Meeting event. As always, RUSA will unveil the winners of the Notable Books, Reading List, and Listen List selections, the Dartmouth Medal, the Sophie Brody Medal for Jewish literature and the best in reference sources for adults.  Get to know our expert-resources to enrich your library's collections!  All Midwinter attendees are invited to this complimentary event on Sunday, January 26, 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Youth Media Awards 

Each year the American Library Association honors books, videos, and other outstanding materials for children and teens. Recognized worldwide for the high quality they represent, the ALA Youth Media Awards, including the prestigious Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, and Coretta Scott King Book Awards, guides parents, educators, librarians, and others in selecting the best materials for youth.

Selected by committees composed of librarians and other literature and media experts, the awards encourage original and creative work in the field of children’s and young adult literature and media. The 2020 Youth Media Awards announcements will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Monday, January 27, 2020, 8:00am - 10:00am,

NEW! I Love My Librarian Award Ceremony


Come celebrate the winners of the national I Love My Librarian Award!  For the first time in the award’s history, the recipients will be honored at a ceremony during ALA’s Midwinter Meeting. The award recognizes the outstanding public service contributions of librarians working in public, school, college, community college or university libraries who transform lives and improve communities. Hear from the winners and learn their inspiring stories about the power of libraries and librarians. This event is free and open to all registered attendees on Saturday, January 25, 3:00pm - 4:30pm.
